About the Artist
Introduction
I’m Eleni, a painter currently living and working in Bedfordshire.
I work predominantly with oil on canvas and canvas board.
Background
After studying art for most of my school and 6th form years, I decided an art-based career was the path I wanted to follow.
Having studied design for film and T.V. for half a year at university, I found it lacking and concluded that Fine Art was more my calling.
Since then, I began to focus on developing my own personal style influenced by surrealist ideas and the subconscious mind.
I have taken some aspects of my art, such as colour and vibrancy, from the Psychedelic Movement of the ’70s, which I studied in detail.
Furthermore, each piece of my artwork attempts to reflect a perspective of the dream state, primarily in the form of landscapes.
Suggestions of the sun and the moon are a recurring theme throughout my work, giving them an extratemporal and extra-spatial nature.
I am hoping to someday make a successful career out of my art and to keep developing and exploring new ideas.
